NOTES

1.     Only candidates who have taken the common Admission Test (CAT) are entitled to receive the Score Card.

2.     For ‘Logic and Data Interpretation’ (Section 1), ‘Verbal’ (Section 2) and ‘Quantitative’ (Section 3) sections, the “% SCORE” represents the marks obtained by the candidate as a percentage of the maximum marks possible from the valid questions in that section. For ‘TOTAL’: “%SCORE” represents the simple average of the three sectional “SCORES”.

3.     The “PERCENTILES” indicate the candidate’s relative performance among all candidates of CAT 2006. For example, if a candidate has 95 percentile in Section 1, it implies that 95% of all candidates appeared for the test have a section “% SCORE” which is at most that of this candidate.

4.     Performance in CAT is one of the several criteria used to judge the suitability of a candidate for admission to an IIM. Each Institute independently decides how to use CAT scores on the basis of its own policies.

5.     It is recommended that CAT scores be used by institutions only for selecting candidates to their Post Graduate / Fellow Programme(s) in Management.

6.     A Duplicate Score Card may be issued on payment of Rs.250/- by demand draft, drawn in favour of the IIM that had mailed the original Score Card. However, request for Duplicate Score Cards will not be entertained by IIMs after November 16, 2007.

7.     The IIMs will not entertain any queries about the contents of this Score Card.
